Meet Grace Ganel
Many of you said, "I want to meet the people running things in our community." So, I’ll be sharing some of the incredible faces I’m meeting from time to time— meet Grace Ganel: 👇
Background:
👋: Three Treasures is a holistic acupuncture practice on North Washington Street, founded by Grace Ganel in 2018 after completing their acupuncture training. The name comes from a concept in classical Chinese medicine—"Jing, Qi, Shen"—which represents the physical, energetic, and spiritual essence of a person. Grace draws on this idea to treat not just isolated pain, but the whole person. Since launching in Maryland and later relocating to Alexandria, the practice has grown through word-of-mouth, personalized care, and a commitment to individualized healing.
Insight:
💡: Not all acupuncture is the same. Grace points out that while many clinics fill multiple rooms per hour to accommodate insurance models, Three Treasures takes a slower, more intentional approach that includes hands-on diagnostics, active listening, and treatments tailored to the moment. “Acupuncture,” Grace explains, “isn’t just about placing needles, it’s about treating the whole system. One week might be physical pain. The next, emotional processing. I show up differently each time based on what the person actually needs.”
Food for thought:
🧠: Grace has seen it all, clients recovering suppressed memories on the table, healing from trauma, and experiencing emotional shifts as part of physical treatments. It's a reminder that our bodies store stories, and healing isn’t always linear. “If you treat the person instead of just the problem,” Grace says, “you never know what might unfold.”
